One of our great challenges will be to obtain core-funding for the main business of SCIL Unlike many of our sister organisations we have never been able to gain core-funding to recognise the work we do, existing solely on project funded posts. Whilst we have expanded quickly, we acknowledge the uncertainty of project funds and need to secure core-funding to ensure we can continue in the future to support disabled people to live the independent living lifestyles of their choice.

We will continue to try and improve our support to enable disabled people to live independently. We are keen to improve the peer support we offer. We are also conscience of the need to improve our campaigning work, in an era of increasing cuts to the support and income available to disabled people, which directly threatens our independence.
